Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani says 20 million people have been affected by the worst flooding in his country's history. The number is much higher than an earlier United Nations estimate of 14 million. The government canceled Independence Day celebrations Saturday as heavy flooding continued in one area of the country. Aid workers say an estimated 6 million people in the area are in need of humanitarian aid. Officials say the floods have killed about 1600 people. The UN has confirmed the first case of cholera in the Mingora area. Aid workers are also treating thousands of cases of severe diarrhea.
