The suspect in the failed airplane bombing last month made his first court appearance in Detroit, Michigan on Friday. Lawyers acting for Farouk Abdulmutallab told the court that he is not guilty of the charges against him. A Federal Grand Jury earlier this week approved six charges against Nigerian man. The charges included he attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and attempted murder. He could face life in prison if found guilty. Government lawyers say the suspect attempted to cause an explosion during a flight from Amsterdam to Detroit.
