The United States Coast Guard says BP has restarted pumping heavy fluids into an undersea well to stop a huge oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico. The operation was temporarily suspended. Earlier Thursday, BP official Doug Suttles announced the effort to stop the leak. Mr. Suttles said if the leak continues BP may try heavier mud or other objects. United States Coast Guard Rear Admiral Mary Landry says the well has been leaking twelve to nineteen thousand barrels of oil a day. That makes the oil spill the biggest in American history. President Obama is expected to visit the area on Friday.
