President Obama says BP has agreed to create a twenty-billion-dollar program to pay for damages resulting from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. The President spoke after a meeting with top BP officials in Washington. He said lawyer Kenneth Feinberg will be the supervisor of the program. Mr. Feinberg supervised payments to families of victims of the September 11th 2001 attacks against the United States. BP will also set up a one-hundred-million-dollar program to pay oil workers who are now unemployed because of the oil spill.
