The United Nations says 3.5 million children in Pakistan could become seriously sick from dirty water caused by severe floods. There is also a lack of medication. A UN aid spokesman says as many as 6 million people could face hepatitis, dysentery and other diseases. A World Health Organization official told VOA that the floods damaged or destroyed almost 100 health centers in Pakistan. The UN has asked for 460 million dollars in aid for the South Asian nation. Donor countries have provided only about 35% of the money so far.
