The leader of a small American church has canceled plans to burn copies of the Quran on Saturday. That day marks the 9th anniversary of the September 11th, 2001 terrorist attacks. Reverend Terry Jones said he ended his protest because he made an agreement with Muslim leaders to move the disputed placement of an Islamic cultural and religious center in New York City. Reverend Jones said the center would be moved away from the location of the September 11th attacks. However, a statement from the clerk in charge of the New York Center said there was no agreement to move the project. Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf said he was surprised by Reverend Jones' announcement and would not change his plans.
